Organizer:

Langstreckenlauf-Gemeinschaft Mauerweg Berlin e.V.
Brettnacher Strasse 24, 14167 Berlin

Website: www.100meilen.de

Route:

The Berlin Wall Trail is mostly paved and smooth, but it also includes areas with broken concrete, sand trails, stones, and roots which may create some uneven surfaces.

Each year, the direction of the race changes.  The 2018 race will be run clockwise. The course is marked with spray painted arrows appearing every 200-500 meters.  A detailed route description and a GPS map will be available for review and downloading on the race website, www.100meilen.de  roughly one month before the race. Participants are advised to check the web site prior to the race and attend the Friday evening briefing on August 10 in case of minor last minute route changes.

Part of the route includes normal streets and sidewalks. Participants are expected to follow local traffic laws.

Distance:

100 Miles – Measured by GPS and verified by the Race Organizer.

Start and Finish:

Start and Finish are both located in Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn Stadium, Cantianstrasse 24 in 10437 Berlin.

There is limited capacity for parking at the stadium. Race participants and their supporters are strongly recommended to use public transportation to reach the stadium. The start number serves as a ticket to allow the participant to use public transportation on the race days.

Start Time and Cut-Off Times:

Individual Runners

Start Time:  August 11, 2018, 6:00 am

Cut-Off Time: August 12, 2018, 12:00 noon

The time limit is 30 hours.

Relay Teams

Start Time:  August 11, 2018, 7:00 am

Cut-Off Time: August 12, 2018, 10:00 am

The time limit is 27 hours.

In case of extreme weather, the Race Director may extend the cut-off time.

Aid Stations (AS):

There are 26 aid stations located every 5-8 kilometers along the route. The aid stations provide food and drinks for the race participants. A variety of food and drinks suitable for runners will be available.

All plastic cups and trash should be left at the aid stations as there are no trash facilities along the route.   Littering is not allowed.

Control Points (CP) Drop Bag and Relay Exchanges:

There are three Control Points where drop bags can be picked up or dropped off. The Control Points also function as hand off points for the 2 person and 4 person relay teams and provide food and drinks offered at aid stations. The Control Points are as follows:

  • Control Point 1 – Sportplatz Teltow ( 58 km)
  • Control Point 2 – Schloss Sacrow (90 km)
  • Control Point 3 – Ruderclub Oberhavel in Hennigsdorf (127 km)

The relays are structured as follows:

  • 2 person teams:
    • Runner 1: Start to Schloss Sacrow (Control Point 2 – 90 km).
    • Runner 2: Schloss Sacrow to the finish line (71 km).
  • 4 person teams:
    • Runner 1: Start to Sportplatz Teltow (Control Point 1 – 58 km).
    • Runner 2: Sportplatz Teltow to Schloss Sacrow (Control Point 2 – 32 km).

    • Runner 4: Ruderclub Oberhavel to the finish line (34 km).
  • 10Plus person teams can change runners at any aid station or control point.

Time Measurement:

Timing is performed using chip technology offered by Sportident GmbH. Split times are recorded at each aid station and control point and they are posted online when available.  After the first control point, each aid station will have a cut-off time.  Runners who do not leave the checkpoint before the cut-off time will be disqualified and given DNF status, but allowed to continue running if they choose.

The cut-off times are listed in the table below:

Runners and their bicycle companions who are on the course between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am or when it is otherwise dark are required to use a head lamp and a reflective vest or shoulder strap. An extra head lamp is recommended.

It is recommended that every runner carries at least 0.5 liters of water. In the case of extreme weather conditions, the Race Director can make this mandatory.

For the safety of participants, the Race Organizer will monitor the use of mandatory equipment.

Rule Violations:

Violation of the race rules may result in a warning, a time penalty or a disqualification. The Race Director has the authority to decide. Violations include unsportsmanlike conduct, using shortcuts, using transportation, changing start numbers, ignoring traffic laws, using headphones in city limits and insulting or abusing the volunteers or race organizers. Headphones are only allowed between Aid Station 7 (Lichtenrade) and Aid Station 22 (Naturschutzturm). Use of headphones outside of this part of the route is grounds for disqualification.

Medical Certificate:

A medical certificate, obtained or renewed no more than twelve months prior to the day of the event, is mandatory for individual runners. A copy of the certificate must be submitted to pick up the start packet. The certificate must state in writing that the participant is medically capable of managing a distance of 100 miles. It must include the signature and a seal or stamp (clearly recognizable) of a licensed Physician. A Physician participating in the race may not self-certify.

We suggest using the form from the German Ultramarathon Club (DUV), which can be downloaded here. The form includes English and French text as well as German. Without a medical certificate, the participant is not permitted to start the race.

Bicycle and Running Accompaniment:

Bicycle or running companions/crews are allowed after Control Point 1 (Sportplatz Teltow – 58 km) for both individual runners and relay teams.  Companions are not allowed to position themselves in front of participants in order to protect them from the wind. Each participant is limited to one companion. Companions should not interfere with other participants. They are required to register.

Liability Disclaimer:

Participation in the race is at the participant’s own risk. Every runner and companion exempts the organizer from liability and financial compensation in case of property damage, debilitating conditions, accidents, poor health and death.  Participants are not entitled to delivery of drop bags and lost and found items which are not claimed after the award ceremony.  Every participant (runner/crew) must sign the liability disclaimer at the start packet pick-up. Without this signature the start authorization will be refused.

Event Photos and Videos

During the event, photographs and video recordings of participants are allowed to be taken. These may be used for editorial and advertising purposes by the organizing club LG Mauerweg Berlin free of charge and without temporal restriction. By submitting the registration form, participants agree to the above mentioned regulations.

If the participation limit is reached prior to the close of registration, a waiting list will be set up. The waiting list will stay open until the end of normal registration on May 31, 2018. The list will be visible to the public. When the registration period ends, if there are entries still available from the Race Director pool, the people on the waiting list will be offered those entries.

ATTENTION: the registration for the waiting list also counts as a binding registration for the race. In case that an individual runner or a relay team is not interested anymore in a potential starting slot, the registration has to be cancelled by Email to the registration team (anmeldung@100meilen.de). When a start place becomes free, the registration team will contact the first person on the waiting list by Email and provide payment information and instructions.

The waiting list will be deactivated on June 1, 2018. Registrations of individual runners who have not received a starting slot, yet, will be published on the online participant exchange (as long as the runner agreed  at registration to the publishing of his Email) so that the individual runners on the waiting list can be contacted directly by runners who have to resign from their starting slot for the transfer of the starting slot.

    100 jūdzes.
    Pieteikšanās vaļā no šodienas.

  • Andulis

Iesaka žigli pieteikties: “Due to the huge demand and the limited number of starting places a quick registration is highly recommended.”

  • Lielkuilis

    Alles kaput!
    Jeb tālāk tikai gaidīšanas saraksts.
